Why a playground?

Our mission

The Grove has always been a place where people can put down roots.

Our playground mission is to create a safe, joyful, nature-filled space where children can explore, climb and imagine; where parents and grandparents can sit, chat and connect; and where everyone who comes through our doors — church family and neighbours alike — can experience the warm welcome of God’s love.

We believe play matters. It builds friendships, confidence and community. A playground is a simple, everyday way to open our gates wide and say:

you belong here.

    A place for kids to climb, slide, explore and imagine — safely.

  • Connect

    A spot where families meet, friendships grow and neighbours become friends.

  • Welcome

    An open, joyful front door for our church and our Ferny Grove community.

The plan

Here’s what we’re dreaming of

From drawings to real life

What we need

To turn these drawings into a real-life playground, we need to raise funds for two big things: the play equipment itself, and the site works that make the space safe, level and easy to get to.

Every gift — big or small — brings us one step closer to the first slide down that twisty tube.

    Earthworks to create a flat, safe play area.

    A secure, enclosed space families can trust.

    Easy, safe access from the rest of the grounds.

  • Soft-fall mulch

    200 mm of cushioned ground under every landing.

  • Gardens & landscaping

    Keeping the space green, shady and beautiful.
